Instructions for submitting your adoption application

Please do not contact us for a list of current adoptables. All the information we have is on our website. If you would like more information about the equine you are considering for adoption, please contact the foster care provider listed in the bio of said equine.

Choose the equine you are interested in adopting. If you would like to adopt more than one equine at a time, please submit a separate application for each equine. You may fill out one application and make a copy of each one. The purpose for this is so that the file of the adopted equine will be complete at USESR headquarters. Only the name of the equine you are interested in adopting should be different for each adoption application. Mail the application along with your filing fees ($25.00 per application) and minimum $100.00 deposit to:

Adoption applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.

If you are not approved for horse adoption, your deposit will be returned to you. In the event that you change your mind and decide not to adopt an equine from USESR , you forfeit your deposit. Filing fees are never refundable. If you change your mind and decide you want a different USESR equine after submitting your adoption application, all monies and application will be transferred to that equine.

Print and keep your adoption contract. You will need it handy should you pass the application process and a site inspector is dispatched to the location where you will be keeping the equine. The site inspector MUST sign off on the bottom of the application before it becomes valid. After your application is signed by the site inspector, mail the balance of the adoption fee and the adoption contract, signed by you, to the address listed above. The contract will be signed by an officer of USESR and a copy of it will be mailed back to you.

When we receive your signed contract and balance of the adoption fee, we will contact you to arrange for delivery or pick-up of your new equine family member.

The signed Adoption Contract and balance in full of the adoption fee is due at USESR Headquarters no later than seven (7) calendar days after the Pre-Adoption Site Inspection. Failure to comply is grounds for denial of the Adoption Application and the application will surely be denied.
