Two Kinds of Inspectors

USESR keeps tabs on every equine in our program. We police ourselves by carrying out regular inspections on Foster Care Providers as well as equine placed in Adoptive homes. We also perform Abuse Investigations on behalf of the general public.

Site Inspectors

Site Inspectors perform inspections on Foster homes and Adoptive homes. These inspections are ‘low-key’ and can be scheduled around your busy schedule. Inspected persons are always happy to see you and you can bring a friend to the inspection with you. You’ll get to meet other people who share your same interests, as well as get and give new ideas on horse-keeping efficiency.

Humane Investigators:

Humane Investigators perform Abuse Inspections. Most of these are done via telephone due to the size of the state we serve. Some will be performed in person, though. “In person” investigations can be dangerous at times and due to the liability issue, you may not take along a non-member of USESR when you do these inspections.

Research Specialist:

Research Specialists search the Internet for information about equine disease, worming, horse care, etc. when requested. Sometimes USESR is offered an equine with a medical condition we aren’t familiar with. Sometimes we rescue a rare breed of equine we’d like to know more about. There are times when information is needed and research takes precious time away from other duties. Your help is needed .
