Newsletter Publisher

USESR publishes a full-color newsletter every other month which is distributed to each of our members, most law enforcement agencies, and Humane Societies and SPCA’s throughout Texas, as well as many ‘subscribers’. It is typically a four-page publication, published in Micorsoft Publisher. Printing the newsletter is a full-time project which lasts approximately four days, every other month. Newsletter publisher will receive an ink allowance, paper allowance, and postage paid. We receive many referrals via our newsletter, for equine in need as well as abuse case reports. The newsletter also serves as a valuable educational tool and advertises our adoptable equine, spotlights successful adoptions, and announces our current events.

Contributing Editor, Newsletter

Each newsletter must contain educational material. Are you fond of composing short articles and do you enjoy educating the public and sparking interest in equine activities? If so, your newsletter contributions are welcome and appreciated. We strive to make our newsletter both educational and entertaining, therefore equine poetry and amusing stories are also welcome.

Web Design

Do you possess advanced web design skills? Can you create interactive forms, message boards, chat rooms, etc.? If so, we need your help! We currently pay someone who is in the learning process to build and update our website, but we do not pay him very much and he could sure use your help as he works a full-time job as well as having other Internet projects. This would not be a position which requires a steady number of dedicated hours per month. We may request a special project once very few months, and we hope you will be available to answer that call!

Our website is our primary means of education, advertising, and fundraising. It must have a consistent, professional appearance. Experienced only need apply for this important position.
