When you join USESR , you can be assured an active role and an active voice within the rescue. All memberships are voting memberships. Meetings are held in rotating locations each month. Members are encouraged to network and get to know each other.

Not everyone has a lot of time each month to volunteer. No matter how many hours you can spend helping the equine of USESR, you will be respected and appreciated for it. Volunteers receive yearly accolades as well as Certificates of Appreciation and special “Thank You” gifts for their generous donation of time.

Why volunteer? Volunteering improves self esteem. Volunteering relieves stress and provides a positive outlet for creative energy. Volunteering adds to your résumé. Volunteering allows you to meet like-minded individuals and form new friendships. Volunteering sets a good example for your children to follow. Volunteering enriches your community.

Persons wishing to serve in the special capacity of Officer or on the Board of Directors are welcome to volunteer for these prestigious positions. Officers and Directors are naturally expected to spend a bit more time performing volunteer duties than other volunteers. General knowledge in volunteer management, nonprofit accounting, marketing, and many other issues is required. Training in these fields is provided by USESR. We have an open-door policy toward all of our volunteers and believe in leading by example.
